Student Activities at CLS
We are members of the Puget Sound Christian Activities Association founded by Lutheran schools throughout the Puget Sound region, and serving Christian and private schools with a competitive sports league and collaborative extracurricular activity programming.
- The activities program is designed to further the education of each participant.
- The fundamental principle for competitive activities is to add to the development of the whole student. It promotes and supplements the regular curriculum of the school.
- Teaching and experiencing the basic fundamentals and strategies of each activity is important to the growth, knowledge, and competency of each participant.
National Geographic Bee
The National Geographic Bee is an annual competition organized by the National Geographic Society, designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Each year students in grades 4-8 participate in this competition. The winner has the opportunity to advance to State championship competition and finally National competition.
Washington Knowledge Bowl
Knowledge Bowl is hosted by Concordia for students in grades 5-8. This competition allows academically gifted students the opportunity to match their intellectual skills against others of comparable ability and provides an avenue for fellowship among participants (and parents).
Our Chess Club is a new activity just be organized and coordinated with our sister schools in the Puget Sound Christian Activities Association.
Our 6th grade students join peers from 5 other Lutheran schools in the Puget Sound at Miracle Ranch in Purdy, WA. They meet to strengthen friendships within the class, meet new friends, to foster independence, and to encounter God. While at camp students experience archery, arts and crafts, Bible study, horse trail ride, swimming and boating, hiking, outdoor fitness, salmon life cycle, and ropes course.
