Overview:

KindergartenOur Kindergarten class enjoys a multitude of opportunities designed to educate and spiritually grow each student throughout the school year. Kindergarteners explore their environment in specially designed centers, attend chapel, participate in special opportunities for music, reading readiness activities in The Learning Edge, and look forward to the time spent with their 7th grade buddies. Our Kindergarten Fly-Up Ceremony at the end of the year is a favorite among students and parents.

First-GradeOverview:

First Graders enjoy a variety of activities designed to help students actively explore their faith and learning environment from chapel time, to integrated art experiences, to one-on-one math activities with their 8th grade buddies. They visit The Learning Edge for reading skill- building, participate in school-wide service opportunities, and explore beyond their classroom boundaries in field trips related to special units of study. First grade is a special time of growing and sharing!

Overview:

Second-GradeSecond Graders expand their boundaries in unique centers designed to developmentally challenge students and help them to become more independent learners in academics and faith. They enjoy a variety of activities inside and outside of the classroom with thematic integrated units that teach about other cultures throughout the world and encourage critical thinking skills. Second Graders also look forward to buddy time spent with junior high students, where lasting relationships develop between our younger and older students.

Overview:

Third-GradeThird Graders develop skills that will serve them all the way through the rest of their school years with additional emphasis placed on learning keyboarding and word processing skills on computer. Their music time is enriched as they learn to play the recorder and read music. Third Graders also begin to write in a variety of styles as they explore faith, composition, and creative writing. They look forward to exciting off-campus trips that help them explore their community and beyond.

Overview:

Fourth-GradeFourth Graders learn to independently think about their responsibilities as citizens and Christians in their immediate environments, as well as residents of WA State, with a wide variety of opportunities that allow them to explore past and present history. The opportunities for music expand with the addition of band class, where they explore the world of musical instruments. Fourth Graders especially look forward to the interactive world of the Oregon Trail, learning first-hand what it was like to be an early pioneer of the Western region.

Overview:

Fifth-GradeFifth Graders enjoy a variety of additional opportunities in academics and sports, as they become eligible to participate in Basketball, Cross-Country, and Track, as well as the Lutheran Elementary School Tournament (LEST) hosted at Concordia University in Portland, OR and the WA State Geography Bee. Fifth graders also step out to actively give back to their extended community in several service opportunities throughout the school year. They develop faith in action!
