English as a Second Language and Preparation for the TOEFL Test:
Our school offers strong English support whether that’s speaking or writing or reading or preparing for the TOEFL Test to get into a university here in the U.S. We have staff who will provide personal support to help second language learners apply English Skills and support writing papers in English. Tutoring assistance can be sought after/provided depending on the need of the student.

A Safe Environment:
Safety and security is a very high priority here. Our schools are always locked and we emphasize student safety and watchfulness during school and events. Our host families receive training and support prior to the students arriving. As a community we pay special attention to the safety and needs of our international students.
A Caring Community & Student Friendship / Mentorship Program:
Our number one asset is the depth of love and caring in our school community. As Christian Lutheran community, we care for each student individually and strive to feel he or she feels welcome, included, supported and engaged throughout the school year. We offer a student friendship / mentorship program where each international student will be paired up with a domestic student of the same age and the same gender with common interests to ensure each student is being supported throughout the entire school year. International Program Details
Mount Rainier Lutheran High School accepts a limited number of international students on a space available basis. We are a registered SEVIS school and authorized to issue I-20s so that international students may attain an F-1 visa. MRLHS issues I-20 status to students who meet all general admission requirements and who are willing to live with a host family during their stay. Depending on availability, there may be opportunities for International students to stay with host families within the MRLHS community.
Mount Rainier Lutheran High School offers college preparatory academics, and a well-rounded approach to education, including athletics, arts, and music.
Students applying to Mount Rainier Lutheran High School will need to set up an online account and submit the following for the 2017-2018 school year:

- Completed Mount Rainier International Student Application Forms (through your online account)
- Completed Mount Rainier International Student Supplement Forms (through your online account)
- Copy of the current I-20 form
- Copy of passport (page with photo and expiration date)
- Copy of current school transcript with English translation
- Two letters of recommendation from teachers or counselors with English translation
- Copy of TOEFL Test (minimum score of 80) or SLEP Test (minimum score of 55)
- Interview with the Admissions Director (via Skype or in person)
- Application fee: $150
- Acceptance for international students is conditional for one-year, with an annual student file review at the end of each school year.
