Grading Scale & Honor Roll

Grading Scale

Cumulative semester grades are calculated as a percentage, then those percentages are converted to a letter grade with GPA points awarded as follows:

100-93        A            4.0

92-90          A-           3.67

89-87          B+          3.33

86-83          B            3.0

82-80          B-           2.67

79-77           C+          2.33

76-73           C             2.0

72-70           C-           1.67

69-68          D+          1.33

67-65           D            1.0          (minimum passing score to receive credit)

64-0             F             0

Honors classes are weighted on a 5.0 scale and are calculated into the cumulative weighted GPA as such.

Class rank is calculated in the senior year for the purpose of identifying Valedictorian and Salutatorian.

Honor Roll

Students are eligible for inclusion on the honor roll or merit roll each semester of each year in attendance. The Grade Point Average (GPA) of a given semester is used to determine a student’s eligibility at each level. Honor Roll: GPA of 3.5 with no grade below 80%. Merit Roll: GPA of 3.0 with no grade below 70%.
